1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of the Search Studio website. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Search Studio is the trading name of Founder15 Ltd, company number 15594771. Our registered office is at 71 to 75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. We provide permanent recruitment for non technical roles from manager to C suite at UK startups and scaleups. You can contact us at hello@searchstudio.co.

2. Website information

Content on this site is provided for general information about Search Studio and our approach. It is not employment, legal, tax, financial or other professional advice. You should obtain advice appropriate to your circumstances before acting on information on the site.

We take reasonable care over the site, but do not promise that every statement will always be complete, current or free from error. Timelines, search outcomes and examples describe our intended approach or previous experience; they are not a guarantee of a particular result.

3. Recruitment engagements

Visiting this site or sending an enquiry does not appoint Search Studio, create an exclusive relationship or oblige either party to proceed. Client assignments are governed by separate written terms agreed before work begins. If those terms conflict with these website terms in relation to an assignment, the signed engagement terms take priority.

We target an initial shortlist of three to five screened and interested candidates within seven working days of an agreed brief and signed terms. Each candidate will have been assessed against the essential criteria, discussed the role, expressed interest in progressing, been checked for broad practical alignment and given permission for their details to be presented. Their availability, notice period, relevant experience and any concerns will also be recorded. Sourced or contacted profiles may appear in a separate market map, but they do not count towards the shortlist. The target is not a warranty that a placement will be made or that every search will produce a particular number of candidates.

Our standard commercial position is a fee of 20% of base salary only, payable when the candidate signs their employment contract. The exact scope, calculation, payment trigger and any exceptions are governed by the written terms agreed for the assignment.

4. Candidates and opportunities

Information about a role is based on details supplied by the hiring organisation and may change. Contact about an opportunity is not a job offer, promise of interview or guarantee of engagement. Hiring decisions remain with the relevant client.

If you share information with us, you confirm that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are entitled to provide it. You should not send confidential information belonging to a current or former employer unless you are authorised to do so. Our use of personal information is explained in our Privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the site unlawfully, fraudulently or in a way that harms another person;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its infrastructure or connected systems;
  • introduce malicious code, overload the site or interfere with its operation;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically extract site content or contact details without permission; or
  • misrepresent your identity, experience, authority or relationship with another organisation.

6. Intellectual property

The site’s design, copy, graphics, brand elements and other original content belong to Search Studio or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view the site and make a reasonable copy for your personal, internal business or recruitment use. You may not reproduce, publish, sell, adapt or commercially exploit substantial parts of the site without written permission.

Client names and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Where displayed, they describe experience gained by the Search Studio team in prior roles and do not imply that the work was completed by Search Studio or that an ongoing endorsement or partnership exists.

7. Links and external services

The site may link to email services or external websites. Those services are controlled by others and have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for their availability or content merely because we provide a link.

8. Availability and security

We may change, suspend or withdraw all or part of the site without notice. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that the site will be free from vulnerabilities. You are responsible for using suitable security measures and current software when accessing the site.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Search Studio is not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general website content, inability to access the site, or external sites outside our control.

If you use the site for business purposes, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, data or goodwill arising from use of the site. Any liability connected with an agreed recruitment assignment is governed by the separate engagement terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the site, our services or the law. The date at the top identifies the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change means the updated terms apply from that point.

11. Governing law

These terms and any dispute outside a contract relating to them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts and retain any mandatory rights that apply to you.
