How we research
We give priority to official statistics, original reports, primary documents and recognised professional bodies. Every factual article names its sources and links to them where a public source is available.
We distinguish between different kinds of evidence. A confidence survey is not presented as a vacancy count. Job advertising data is not treated as a count of distinct open roles. Where a result has an important limitation or confidence interval, we explain it.
Review and authorship
A person reviews every article before publication. Research tools may help organise source material, but they do not decide what we publish. Claims, dates, links, calculations and quoted figures are checked against the cited source.
The byline on each article links to this policy so readers can see who is accountable and how the work was produced.
Corrections and updates
We correct material factual errors promptly. If a correction changes the meaning of an article, we add a clear note and update the date on the page. Minor spelling or formatting changes do not alter the date.
